About me

I am Gabriel, an Ecuadorian-American creative and visionary Project Management Professional (PMP) with a proven record of leading projects from concept to completion in the higher education and government innovation spaces. My expertise combines technical and agile project management methodologies, analytics, and servant leadership. Proficient in project planning, timeline management, data-driven monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder management, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement, I guarantee the success of projects I undertake. Currently, I work at the Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence (GovEx) at Johns Hopkins University, where I lead a cross-functional team in delivering executive leadership programs that empower mayors and city leaders to create a data-driven and equitable public sector. My international experience spans across South America, particularly Ecuador, where I launched a higher education division for underserved students. Leveraging this experience, I have played a crucial role in expanding the organization's reach to 25+ Latin American cities. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Florida, PMP and Scrum Master (CSM) certifications, and am pursuing a Master's degree in Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at Georgia Tech University. This will further strengthen my expertise in AI and its applications in the educational and governmental sectors. In addition to my professional endeavors, I am a proud immigrant, father to Noah, and husband to Clara. I am also the co-founder of Agile Dharma Consulting, a company that offers project management coaching and training, as well as AI and analytics consulting. Our aim at Agile Dharma Consulting is to empower organizations with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to succeed in today's rapidly changing business landscape.

Project Management

As a project management professional, I possess a strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies. I am skilled in using Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban to manage projects efficiently, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver high-quality products or services to stakeholders. With a focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration, I prioritize frequent communication and iterative development to ensure project success. Additionally, I am a project management professional certified (PMP) well-versed in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework. I am proficient in using traditional project management methodologies, such as Waterfall, to plan, execute, and monitor projects systematically.

Artificial Intelligence

I have extensive expertise in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) focusing on the development of AI-based solutions for businesses and individuals. My experience includes the design of predictive systems, using machine learning and deep learning techniques to create robust AI models. I have also worked on the development of natural language processing (NLP) and Large Language Model (LLM) applications, as well as developing intelligent agents and chatbots and I am confident in my ability to provide AI-powered solutions to individuals and organizations.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Florida, along with Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master (CSM) certifications. Currently, I am in the process of completing a Master's degree in Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at Georgia Tech University, which will further solidify my expertise in the field of AI and its application in the educational and governmental sectors.

Professional Experience

At present, I work at the Center for Government Excellence (GovEx) at Johns Hopkins University. Here, I coordinate the design, development, and delivery of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Cities Data Alliance and execute the Center's service delivery model in the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative. My international experience spans across Ecuador, where I piloted and launched a higher education division offering degrees to underserved students.

In addition to my professional experience, I am also the co-founder of Agile Dharma Consulting, a company that offers Project Management Coaching and Training, Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Consulting.
